Contrary to popular opinion, being a lefty with a runner on first is not always an advantage for a lefty, compared to a righty.  For those lefties that actually have a bad move, they are in fact easier to read, to steal off of, then the right handed counterparts.  I truly cannot think of any situation, in any sport where being one hand over the other is such an advantage and yet it amazes me when I watch high school and college game, even the pro’s for that matter, and see how many lefties not only don’t take advantage of this, but actually completely give this piece of the game away.  For many of these lefties having a bad move, in many ways makes then a worse pitcher.  Think about it this way.

If you are a lefty and you are staring at the runner and your move is poor, you become preoccupied with the runner which takes away your main job – MAKING A QUALITY PITCH AND GETTING THE HITTER OUT!  So lefties with bad moves actually have worse stuff, worse era, when pitching with a runner on first.  They are better off giving up a double, triple or home run then a single.  The runner on first distracts.

Right handers can really only be so preoccupied because they can’t see the runner.  So it is built in that they won’t be distracted when making the pitch.  Lefties with good/great moves not only get an easy out here and there, not only do they take away hit and runs, shorten leads, keep the DP in order, make the 1st to 3rd hard, make force outs at 2nd easier, they get to focus on the task at hand.  Making good pitches and getting hitters out.
